Magical Marrakech!
On the outside, nothing indicates that here, behind the small doors, is a magical place. So I was very surprised when the doors opened for me here for the first time! These led me to my fairytale stay in Marrakech. Villa des Orangers is housed in a traditional Riad. In the late 1990s, the villa was transformed into a luxury hotel affiliated with the Relais & Chateaux hotel chain. The hotel has 27 rooms and suites and consists of several buildings with intimate patios and fountains. There is a heated pool in the attractive courtyard garden with beautiful orange trees. A second pool is located on the roof and offers a beautiful view of the old city.
In the gourmet restaurant you can taste dishes of Moroccan and Mediterranean cuisine every day. You will also find excellent wines on the menu; the sommelier will be happy to advise you. Enjoy a light lunch by the pool or on the terrace in the shade of the orange trees. Relax in the traditional Moroccan Hammam. Treatments with eucalyptus-scented soap, a massage glove, pure essential oils and desert sand work wonders.
The ancient Moroccan royal city continues to enchant me. The Koutoubia Mosque and the beautiful historic palaces. The Jardin Majorelle, the colorful garden of none other than Yves Saint Laurent. And also the narrow streets of the Medina, where the Soukhs are divided according to crafts and where it seems that time has stood still. At the end of the day, when the sun goes down and the city turns deep red, the fairy tales of “a thousand and one nights” come to life with magicians, snake charmers and storytellers on the busy Djemaa El Fna square. Villa des Orangers is uniquely situated in the heart of this beautiful city and yet you will find it peaceful. After a long walk through the Medina, I experience resting, by the fireplace with a glass of red wine in my hand, as a true pleasure.
At Villa des Orangers your transfers to and from the airport are included and you can also enjoy a delicious lunch on the terrace every afternoon. That too is included in your stay! High time to start exploring this city? Our spring and autumn is the best period to travel here and a combination with a hotel in the Atlas mountains, near the desert or on the coast of Morocco, is absolutely recommended.
