Exotic adventure!

Alila Purnama is one of the most luxurious live-aboard Phinisi ships in Asia. Purnama means “full moon” and this traditional two-master is handmade. Exactly as these were also built in the olden times by the Bugis sailors of South Sulawesi. The almost fifty meter long ship has no less than three decks.

The Phinisi ship fits in perfectly with the philosophy of the Alila Hotel Group, where the emphasis is always on style and sustainability. The furniture throughout the ship is custom made from teak, rattan and other natural materials from Indonesia. On board are five luxury suites. Including the Master Suite, unique with its large windows that provide a fantastic view of the ever-changing impressive landscape.

On board you lack nothing. All comforts sail with you such as a spa therapist and a specialized diving school. There is plenty of time for relaxation and the inner man is taken care of while you enjoy the warm sea breeze on the beautiful deck with a cool drink in your hand.

Alila Purnama sails different routes in summer and winter. In our summer, the ship calls at Komodo National Park. The park is located near the small Sunda Islands in the border area between the provinces of East Nusa Tenggara and West Nusa Tenggara. The park includes the three larger islands of Komodo, Padar and Rinca. The national park was established to protect the komodo dragon, the world’s largest lizard. The National Park has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In our winter, the route passes through Raja Ampat, home to Indonesia’s grandest Marine National Park. Located in West Papua, also a province of Indonesia, this archipelago of small islands surrounds the area’s four major islands; Miscool, Salawati, Batanta and Waigeo.

Alila Purnama guarantees an extraordinary experience on the undiscovered waters of the Indonesian archipelago.
