One & Only Reethi Rah is located on the North Maldives Atoll and has long been on my wish list to visit. This resort is particularly highly regarded in the International hotel industry. My expectations were therefore high and have been met far beyond expectations. The personal service here is outstanding and the world-class superiority I notice in everything. Noiseless butler service, a lifeguard at your water villa on request, your clothes in your closet before you arrive. By bicycle, I explore the nearly largest island in the Maldives. The heart of the big island is dark green, the miles of beaches snowy white.
Reethi Rah has Beach and Water villas and to choose between them is a challenge. The villas have their own style. Are chic, modern and elegantly decorated and surpass the highest level of luxury. At the Beachvilla you have a wide private beach at your disposal and here is also your private pool. The Water Villas float above the water, some have a private pool on the deck and other types have a large hammock above the water. Enjoying a cool glass of rosé and in the background no other sound than the murmur of the sea I imagined, in this hammock, that I was in paradise on earth. No resort in the Maldives gives its guests as much space and privacy in the villas as One & Only Reeti Rah.
For experienced and less experienced divers, this destination is also a dream. From the professional dive center, you sail along to over thirty different dive spots. Wreck diving in the crystal clear Indian Ocean is a sensational experience, a spot with countless manta rays is unforgettable and otherwise the night dive is!
Restaurant Reethi serves Mediterranean and Asian cuisine. Reethi’s three rooms are impressively decorated and each has its own theme; Earth, Wind and Fire. Reethi Rah has a cellar with as many as 450 class wines. Quite a challenge for the sommeliers! At Fanditha Restaurant, I enjoy the outdoors. The cuisine here is oriented to Middle Eastern food culture. Outside, I take a seat on lounge sofas with huge cushions for an aperitif. Later, during dinner at the table, I watch tropical fish and baby sharks swim by through the glass floor. My last evening on the island, at Restaurant Tapasake, I experience Japanese cuisine like never before!
The One & Only Spa with thirteen treatment rooms is in line with the level of the hotel. Here I step into another world. The large garden is meant for hours of undisturbed relaxation. The butler brings fresh fruit and a glass of lemongrass tea in between. The Spa therapists here specialize in personalized treatment methods and other luxury therapies with esoteric oils and local herbs that rejuvenate your body and mind. After a day in the sun, a traditional sand massage is perfect for your skin cells, while an Ayurvedic head massage will make you forget everything around you.
One & Only Reethi Rah is rightfully one of the hotspots and also one of the best resorts in the world! There is no doubt about that!
